“Santa Fe Indian Market Baa Hashne’, T’áá Dinék’ehjígo,”
Today is the 2024 Santa Fe Indian Market. I made a video of the event last year and won first place with at the 2024 Navajo Film Festival held at San Juan College on June 15, 2024.
This video is called, “Santa Fe Indian Market Baa Hashne’, T’áá Dinék’ehjígo,” which means, “I talk about the Santa Fe Indian Market, in the Navajo language.” I posted this video already last year, but this version has an intro & credits for submission to the film festival. If you hadn't seen this video, hope you enjoy my short film.

    I am a quarter Mestizo. Apparently, we are Navajo, Spanish (Basque) & Mexican. I wasn't brought up with my maternal Mestizo grandmother's side. It's been 20 years. However, I am the only one in my "family" who is breaking generational trauma. I am a healer. I named my daughter Nizhóní. She is a miracle baby in every sense.     LOVE this!!! I've seen Dinéh written but didn't know how to pronounce it. Such cool sounds! I did get a little confused as to which words were Dinéh and which were Indeh, but I got the gist of it. May I ask, when you say "Western Apache", do you mean Mescalero, Lipan, and/or Chiricahua? Or...? I hope you continue to do these kinds of videos. They're wonderful!
